Swedish Headache Study

Comparison of the Prevalence of Any Headache in Different Studies

Headache during DP treatment after stroke or TIA has been reported among more than one third of patients.

Discussion

The preliminary findings in this pilot study indicate that a large similar study may be feasible to examine if does titration in the initial phase of dipyridamole treatment may be of benefit to lower the frequency of dipyridamole-induced headache. In the study there was a trend towards a lower prevalence of headache for more than 2 consecutive days in the titration group compared with the standard treatment group. Although this finding was not significant, it may indicate that an initial titration phase of dipyridamole may be beneficial.
