RCP Guidelines
All patients with ischaemic stroke who are not on anticoagulation, should be taking an antiplatelet agent, such as ASA (50–300 mg) daily (A), or clopidogrel, or a combination of low-dose ASA and modified-release dipyridamole. Where patients are ASA intolerant, an alternative antiplatelet agent (clopidogrel 75mg daily or modified-release dipyridamole 200mg twice daily) should be used (A).
